THEY ARE IN~AJI CEREZA CHILI PEPPERS
AJI CEREZA CHILI PEPPERS arrived today and will be added to our website this weekend so keep watching & place your order. These are beautiful peppers that look just like bing cherries. Chad and I don't eat anything hot so can't taste test them!
Aji Cereza peppers are a variety most commonly found in the Peruvian jungle. One of the smaller varieties of chile pepper, they are cherry shaped and a deep red color. They rank just below habanero chilies on many pepper heat scales, making them a good substitution if you’re looking to reduce the heat level of a habanero based recipe by only a little bit.
These dried Aji Cereza chilies are certified organic.
Scoville Heat Rating: 70,000-80,000
Origin: Peru
Applications: Reconstitute these chilies and add to soups, sauces, and other dishes. Chop them up, toast them (optional) slightly and add them still dried. Take the tops off and grind them into chili powder using a spice grinder or blender for use as is or as part of your own spice blends. Perfect for sauces, salsas and Mexican, Central American & South American cooking when you want to bring the heat.
How to Store and Share: For best storage, please keep these chilies in a cool, dry placeThursday, December 3, 2009
