Also known as the Naga Jolokia and Bih Jolokia, or poison chile pepper, it has been measured at 855,000 Scoville units up to 1,041,427 units by an Indian export company. The Bhut Jolokia is twice as hot as the Red Savina (350,000-577,000 Scoville units) and is similar looking to the Dorset Naga. When ripe, the ghost chiles are 60 mm to 85 mm long and up to 30 mm wide. They have an orange or red color. They are very similar looking to Habanero peppers, but they have a rugged skin
Ghost Chiles are very, very, very hot. Use them sparingly, add a little to fresh salsa, sauces, chili and anything else you want to start a 12 alarm fire with.

Things R A Changin'
Hello and Happy Holidays! I haven't blogged in a long time because we have been so busy with our website, Ebay and getting ready for Christmas. My husband, Chad, is in the process of making some great changes to that website including lowering our prices and not necessarily carrying the organic spices anymore. We found there wasn't a great deal of interest in them probably due to the economy. To use organic spices then you would be buying all organic foods which are very expensive. We will continue to carry our great selection of Ethnic Spice Blends, Barbecue Rubs, Dried Mushrooms, Peppercorns, and more delicious single spices. Go Rays!!
Living so close to the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team everyone here is very excited about the World Series. We are really cheering them on!!! GO RAYS!!! Unfortunately we don't have tickets but are enjoying watching the games on our big screen TV. It's the next best thing to being there.
